Reiserfs

We had this topic already some months ago here on the list.

If it were that easy, we only would have 1 Linux filesystem. But there
are jfs and xfs too as journaling filesystems. Which one to use in
specific situations depends on the situation. There are some filesystem
tests available in the, net showing pro and contra of the filesystems
regarding speed.

A journaling filesystem which does not handle data integrity properly,
in especial in disaster case, I would it not call stable. ext3 is stable
and very reliable. It too has the advantage that you could mount it as
ext2, if necessary and helpful for recovering data.

Meanwhile reiserfs 3 seems pretty stable, I use it on a spare drive.
