FC2 on HP Proliant Servers - drivers, etc..

Thermal control, et al, is handled by kernel modules such as power, fan,
etc. along with the ACPI and APM stuff.

FC1 is still supported, but via the Fedora Legacy group instead of the
main Fedora Project group.  I'm still using it.

That's "brutal".  I'm running FC2 on a variety of platforms (including
an Opteron) and I'm happy with it.

Actually, driver support is pretty good under both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels.
If you really have trouble with drivers, contact the driver authors or
contact the hardware maker to get them to support the Free Software
movement.  I've been on TI's butt for years because of their lack of
Linux support for their wireless cards.  I think they're starting to
wake up with Linux' inroads onto the desktop.
