FC2 freezes from time to time

I had a problem on my laptop with FC2 locking and freezing.  Also, 
occasionally, the X process would die.  I found that all of these 
problems were fixed when I commented out DPMS in my X11Config file.

In /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, find the following line and make sure that it 
is commented out (i.e. with a leading hash mark.)

   #    Option "DPMS"

Of course, your problem may be completely different, so YMMV.
