Sound card & modem problems

Hello all,

  I'm having problems getting a Creative sound card and a generic 
PCI modem working in FC3. Both were found when the computer booted 
and searched for new hardware, but in GNOME they aren't found. If 
I remove them it says that they were removed, so the computer 
knows that they're there. How can I get them to be found in GNOME?
