Hi Kevin:

Would you supply a bit more information please?  How are you logging in now, 
on command-line?  Did you run into any errors while performing the update?  
What kind of update did you use (up2date, yum, konstruct)?

Check /etc/inittab.  It should be something like the following for a graphical 
	logon:
	  id:5:initdefault:
Also make sure that /etc/sysconfig/desktop is set to DESKTOP="KDE"
