fc2 does not find cd/ dvd-player

Also note that the device in dev is probably something like /dev/hdc.  I've 
had great luck in the following:
1. right click on the desktop and add a new device
2. select cdwriter or dvd rom or whatever best fits from th list of device 
types
3. go to the device tab of the resulting device (if it doesn't pop up right 
click on the new device on the desktop and select properties)
4. select the pulldown for the actual device and see if the device is in the 
list already for you. I find that it is usually there as something like 
"/dev/hdc (/media/cdrecorder)"
