How to enable the thumb buttons on a Logitech MX510 mouse?

Hi,

I cannot get my thumb buttons working on my MX510 mouse under FC3. I did 
the steps in:

but it still doesn't work. (I couldn't find the .xsessionrc file (does 
anyone know where it is?), but entered it in the console).
Please help.
