Touchpad crippled under kernel 2.6.11-1.14

Communications SpecialistI've seen this question posted a couple of times in the past few days since FC3 kernel 2.6.11-1.14 was released,  but I haven't seen any responses. So forgive me for asking again.

With the new kernel, the touchpad on my Acer Travelmate 290 is acting very funky. It's really slow and doesn't recognize tap-as-click. Everything was fine in 2.6.10-1.770 and prior releases of the kernel.

Is there an easy fix for this?
