CUPS causes lock-up

Welcome to my world.  I've asked that very question on this list at least twice.  It turns out the problem is related to the newer kernels and CUPS.  The original FC3 kernel and a couple of released kernels after that were just fine with it.  The latest kernels kill CUPS on my systems.

I recently installed FC3 and retrieved all of the available updated from Up2Date.  (this was 4/14/05)  I restarted for the changed to the kernel to take effect and now the system freezes (won't even respond to CTRL-ALT-DELETE) when loading CUPS.

Please let me know if there is some needed information that I have not included.
