cd ripping in fc3

Hi all,

have tried googling a bit for some answers but have been unsuccesful or
over-run with Windows related information.

anyone got any ideas how to speed up ripping in FC3? Sound-Juicer is
telling me its ripping between 2.5-3.8X, and this seems painfully slow. 

Ive removed the ide=nodma line from my grub, and /sbin/hdparm /dev/hdc
reveals that dma is 1 (on).

	HDIO_GET_MULTCOUNT failed: Invalid argument
 	IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)
 	unmaskirq    =  0 (off)
 	using_dma    =  1 (on)
 	keepsettings =  0 (off)
 	readonly     =  0 (off)
 	readahead    = 256 (on)
 	HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument

Its a Samsung DVD (read) and RW drive if that is applicable.
