A synaptics touchpad, yes.  An ALPS touchpad, no.  The 2.6.10 series
still doesn't support the latter, only 2.6.11 does.

You can still use an ALPS touchpad with plain PS/2 emulation, but then
you lose all of the nice touchpad features related with scrolling.
