This REALLY should not be on a Fedora list. I feel strongly about the 
fact that you are using something that's not Fedora, but instead of 
asking the Live CD distro community for help, you come here. It is wrong.

I don't understand you. You say you can ping remote addresses, but you 
cannot connect to the Internet?

Pinging remote addresses is the same as pinging the Internet. If you can 
do it, you are connected as far as I am concerned.

If you can ping IP addresses, but not FQDNs on the Internet, then your 
DNS could be the culprit.
