Issue with relocation FC2 x86_64

Hi

I was trying to build our driver and got the following error, when I
invoke a function from a custom library:
var/log/messages reported by kernel
     Localhost kernel: overflow in relocation type 10 val
ffffffffa01d9120
     Localhost kernel: 'Intel537' likely not compiled with
-mcmodel=kernel

LIBRARY: R_X86_64_PLT32  
DRIVER: R_X86_64_PC32

Is there a gcc issue with certain relocation types ?
