I take it hangs the machine completely? Because normally
/etc/rc3.d/S55sshd should have run before S99local, so sshd should be up
and running. If its the GUI hanging, you should be able to login
remotely and fix it.
Otherwise, you might be able to install a new, minimal Fedora install
into your swap space, and get in that way.
