FC2: LOCK UPS, NOT ENOUGH FILE HANDLES?

Most evenings I copy several 200+meg files (TV shows)
from my server to my workstation. Sometimes the copy
halts and the server is frozen.

I thought maybe this was an NFS fault, but I dumped
NFS and it also happens over SMB.

I have Azureus running in the background which is
limited to 20 open files, and is constantly
up/downloading.

Would this be causing the lock ups?  I am running a
Celeron 1700, 256 ram, and a 160gig/8meg cache hdd
(which IS supported in the bios).

Any ideas?
