Not trying to blame libvgahw.a for everything, but replacing libvgahw.a
or upgrading xorg-x11 to the version in rawhide might get X up and
working for you. The intel i810 driver is used for many different video
cards and also is effected by this bug. The cyberblade exhibits the
white screen problem that you mentioned. The intel 815 exhibits a blue
border in the terminals but works fair in X. The 865G works fine in X
but shows a blank terminal when switching to any terminal. It does not
surprose me that the Intel 915 would act different than the other cards,
even though they use the same driver.

Bug report:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=161242
The bug report has 173 comments so far, so this bug effects a lot of
video cards and is related to gcc4 at the time of release not compiling
xorg-x11 correctly. gcc4 has been improved to compile better.

download and use this file
ftp://people.redhat.com/mharris/libvgahw.a
to replace
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libvgahw.a
and set the permissions to 444 with the owner as root. You will have to
restart your computer to get X up and running correctly.
