This was a common mistake. If you disable autonegotiation at
one end, you must do the same thing at the other end, else
it would default to 100 halfduplex.

No, I don't think flow control is a problem. All the
ports on the switch I use don't run flow control
(machines running 100 or 1000 Mbit, full duplex).
