The gui is called gmplayer. Open a shell (terminal window), then run at
the prompt

gmplayer file.wmv

If you want to click, you must tell nautilus to use gmplayer not mplayer.
Oh, and for wmv you must have the win32 codecs in /usr/local/lib/win32.
