vmware WS5 and FC3

I want to install VMware WS5 onto my FC3 kernel 2.6.12-1 box.

I downloaded the eval version of WS5, and it said it needed to compile
itself for my kernel, but couldn't find source.

I tried up2date --get-source kernel, but I am getting zero length
files.  (tried twice, 2 different mirrors)

So...

Do I need to use the " unofficial vmware-any-any-* toolkit" to install
WS5?  Or is that only WS4.5?

How come I'm getting zero length files when using get-source?
