ssh -X [host] problems

On my laptop I'm running FC4. I have a server running CentOS 4. I
connect to this server using ssh -X [host] and then run some apps. One
of the apps I run is firefox, but when connecting to this system it acts
very strange.

For example, I'll ssh -X host and connect. Then if I try and run firefox
it doesn't run on the remote machine and send the display, it actually
runs the one on my laptop.

Then, I'm not sure how, one time I did get it to run the one on the
remote machine. I thought all was good, but when I clicked on my Firefox
icon on my laptop, it ran from the remote machine as well. How can this
be?

If I'm in the ssh session terminal logged into the remote machine, how
and why is it running firefox locally?

Another example, if I'm running Evolution from the remote machine and
click on a link, it opens firefox on my laptop, not from the remote
machine as expected. I have another remote machine(FC2) that does not
act like this so maybe it's a CentOS issue, which I guess I would have
to take up on their mailing list.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
James
