multiple yums ?

You are not getting an error, you are being told that yum is already in
use. There is only one rpm database and yum runs against that.  Running
multiple instances of yum would set you up for disaster as multiple tasks
attempted to make the same conflicting changes at the same time.

This is as designed.  You can't run multiple instances of yum simultaneously.
