ghostview-1.5 installation problem

Hi all,


I followed the README and tried to install
ghostview-1.5 on my Red Hat linux Fedora core 1. But
it failed. 

Here are the infomration about the errors:
1)
 [root at cpe-65-189-147-4 ghostview-1.5]# xmkmf
  mv -f Makefile Makefile.bak
  imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config

2) 
[root at cpe-65-189-147-4 ghostview-1.5]# make

How do I fix the problem?

Another question: do I  need a root previlige to
install the software?
