But you can make a GRUB boot disk (google for this, someone will explain
how to do this better than I could).  This contains enough to boot from
a drive in most circumstances.

For cases where you're trying to recover a system that's failed, the
rescue disc is probably what you want (the smaller Fedora ISO file).
