OT: Thunderbird + procmail = is it possible?

sorry about this OT post but...I searched the thunderbird support forums
but couldn't find any info about this. 

i typically use fetchamil + procmail + evolution. i really want to get
evolution out of the picture because 1) it's WAY to slow to upgrade 2)
is buggy as all get out 3) is slow as all get out and 4) crashes
randomly. BUT, i use a procmail for local delivery on my machine. i want
to continue to use procmail for local delivery but thunderbird only
allows POP and IMAP. is this even possible?
