linux rescue

       Hello,

       I studied on FC 4 for some practice, after restarting the
compupter I saw something like that:

    >>>   cannot remove '/etc/dmseg/': Read- Only file system....

      and about 7 more like this......: Read-Only.....

    and nothing works.

    I started with the rescue CD and from the command bash I made
something like that:

    " chmod 777 / ".....because it said that "Read-Only file system" ..
See how new I am?

    So what should I do?

    Should I reload FC from 4 CDs for about an hour?
