how to only XDM no KDM and no GDM ?

hi all,
using KDM or GDM would suck about 90% of my memory resources, because am
using celeron  cpu with 128 RAM, so that I tried to change into XDM. I've
changed the /etc/sysconfig/desktop to "XDM", and I also have installed
icewm. But still after booting, fedora goes to KDM.. please any suggestion ?
