Hello Jeff:

     You are gonig to need to give it an ip address.  I know of no way
around that.  As far as leaving your current interface as eth0, and
the new one being set to eth1.  It should do this for youy anyway,
however if for some reason it tries to switch them, and that bothers
you, you can use the "Network Control" to tell it what dev is what,
and what each should be aliased to.
