OT: Gmail and reading this list

I'll check what you're referring to when the site comes back. But, if you look 
at the last paragraph of the message to which you're replying I state: 
"My settings for all the lists I belong to are set to send me my own posts."
I presume this is what you're referring to? As I understand it, when Gmail 
detects that a message from a list is the same as one I'd sent to the list, 
it doesn't 'receive' it - it /dev/null's it or whatever - that's the problem. 
Gmail has already kept a copy of the message that was sent, so it doesn't 
process the same message when it returns - I could have the details wrong, 
but that's the general gist.
