Wine for Non-Root (Jeff Vian)

you need to install wine as root... but you dont need to use wine of root.

as user open a terminal...
su -
rpm -i wine-version-release.arch.rom
exit

then you can run windows apps with
wine /path/to/windowsexefile
just fine as plain user...
