Continuing problem with wine

Thank you, Yuandan, for helping solve my problem. Before I move on to
other issues, can anyone explain what should be a fairly simple thing to
me. 

If you're root, and you're going to install an application on a machine
for multiple users, how do you install it so all users can run it? You
don't do separate installs in each user's home directory, do you?
