Open Office 2.01 not working.

I have recently upgraded Open Office from 1.9 to 2.01 (from rpm, Dec 5 release)
on FC4 and OO no longer works. The Splash screen progress bar stops midway and
stays there forever.

While that happens, CPU utilization stays close to 100% indefinitely, most of
it caused by the OO binary (writer.bin, scalc.bin, sdraw.bin or impress.bin).

I checked the logs and could not find any explanation for this behavior.

Can anyone suggest a course of action to resolve this issue.
