I'm sorry, but how do I install Mplayer?

What i did was rpm the package (rpm -Uvh mplayer-1.0pre7try2-2.i386.rpm) and
it was successfully installed... now what? I checked the online
documentation, and it only talks about compiling the source code, do I have
to do this?

I also have fonts, codecs and a skin to install as well...

Sorry bout being a noob
