DNS Setup

Did you check that your /etc/resolv.conf file point to your newly DNS server
?

If your DNS is local on your machine, a line of this type should be present
:

nameserver 127.0.0.1

You can change the content of this file either manually or through the
Network Ssytem Preferences GUI.
