| | Is there a way I can collect all updated RPMs on this machine,
| and | create apt-enabled (or yum-enabled) CD image(s) to bring to |
| non-network machines? I don't usually need up-to-date ISO images,
| | but would really like to be able to mirror repositories locally.
| | Rather than releasing the entire updated system, monthly releases
| | of update CD's would be nice. | | | Well, I definitely know the
| way how to do it with up2date (pretty sure, that there is a good
| way to do it with yum or apt, but, unfortunately, did not
| discovered and tried it myself. You just need to download all the
| packages from the "updates" (skip all the debug directory, though)
| and start the up2date utility from the command-line as follows:
| up2date -k:%path% -u
|
| or
|
| up2date -k:%path% -uf (if you need to update the kernel, as well)
|
| where the %path% would be your actual path to all the updates
| downloaded. Works just pefectly for me. Regards, Maxim.

Sorry, in my previous post I did not mention that the method will not
work on a completely non-network machine. Just will help you to save
your time and a lot of traffic on a dial-up one.
Sorry about that :(
