Actually, all that means is that ACPI support is turned off. The system
should still run.

The ACPI interpreter needs to run code provided by the BIOS (i.e. it's
normally closed source) with very high privileges (which means that it's
serious if it goes wrong). And early ACPI support was of the "Will it
boot Windows? Ship it!" variety.

These days, support seems to be better.
