Fedora changed by Knoppix?

Hi,

I didn`t get this.
You have worked on the machine and changed the /etc/sysconfig/network by 
hand?

If so, isn`t that knoppix search the disks and mount the drives?
I thought that knoppix uses /KNOPPIX/etc/... for itself?
