Help in installation!!

All,

I have a AMD Athlon 64 based PC with a SATA drive.  The installation is not recognizing the SATA drive.  

I am new to linux and not an expert.  I need some help on how to install on this machine.

I have set aside a 40 GB partition for Fedora core 3.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.  

The PC is a HP Pavilion d1000e with 512 MB of RAM.
