My Box hanged at the last step due to hyper threading Enabled

I don't know the answer, but I have heard of people here on this list 
running the SMP kernel just fine with Hyperthreading enabled. It should 
be possible.

Tried flashing the BIOS to the latest version? Very simple with genuine 
Intel motherboards.
