Installation Blowing Up

I'm trying to install FC3 on a P3/700/512MB/2x40GB/GeForce2 and I'm
blowing up after formatting the disk while preparing RPM Transactions.
I get the following error:

 

File "/usr/lib/anaconda/hdlist.py", line 343 in mergeFullHeaders
rpm.mergeHeaderListFromFD(self.hdlist, fd, 10000004)

IndexError: list index out of range

 

Of course there is a small traceback above the filename but it's very
vague.  Any idea what the problem is here?  I haven't seen this error
since back in a the 6.x days?  What can I do here?
