I somehow prefer to get a noarch.rpm instead of i686.rpm.
So I edit the  %ifarch noarch  section to include building the
sources rpm and not building the doc rpm. Then using

    rpmbuild -bb --target=noarch kernel-2.6.spec

Also you might check on the rawhide (e.g. FC4) kernel rpm as
the %buildsource is gone now...
