usb storage devices

Before I state this let me say that I believe this is a real problem.

But wtf is going on?  I have seen like it seems 6 other people report
usb storage issues after an update.

But after all this time, both all my usb storage devices behave correctly.  

There has to be a common thread to these issues.  

There has to be something common to all the users reporting usb storage issues.
