Changing Samba password from Windows (ctrl-alt-del)

I just found an interesting article:

Indicating that a Microsoft fix causes the problem. I haven't looked at the
Samba site to confirm but I do have this fix applied (and am now looking how to
uninstall...
Does anyone know if this has been fixed in Samba?
