Gnome Trash Applet

I'm trying to install the trash applet for gnome from
http://luon.net/~michiels/trashapplet/ on Fedora Core 3. It compiles and
installs ok but, the applet does not appear on the add to panel list in
gnome. I am thinking that this may be because the binaries have been
installed in the wrong locations.

Does anyone know what options should be added to ./configure on Fedora
to make sure that things end up in the right directories?
