Grub loading stage2 error

You pose several questions that need to be separated. First, I assume
you are saying that when you boot without a CD in the drive the system
gets stopped with the message:
 GRUB Loading stage2..

 Where did you install your grub and how did you do the installation?
 I hope grub boot code is on /dev/hda (or HD0). Is it?
 Posting you grub.conf file might be helpful.

 Now as you second problem am I correct that you are saying that when
 you put a boot-able CD like the Fedora CD1 or Fedora Rescue disk in
 your CD drive your
 system still goes and tries to boot from the hard drive. Also you are
 saying that in the BIOS the Boot sequence places the CD before the
 hard disk in the boot order. I this correct?
