Hotplug - how does it get the name?

Yup, this is what I tried (actually grep CANON_DC */* and then */*/* etc).
That locked up my machine solidly - no keys accepted, only way out is
to power cycle. No clue anywhere - no logs, etc as to why the kernel
locked up.
It is a two year old box, and I did upgrade the BIOS (the older BIOS
would immediately hang the 2.6 kernel, worked fine with 2.4).

So, I'm staying away from wide greps in /etc!
