system-network-config cannot find my installed modem

I seem to have missed the earlier post. But, I have never had
system-config-network detect my modem. That program is only a front for
wvdial for the ppp part. I assume you have an internal modem. I have an
external modem that kudzu rarely recognizes but my modem access works
anyway. Anything that you think system-config-network is not doing can be
corrected in the wvdial.conf , /etc/sysconfig/network, and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-?? files where ?? is the name you
associated with the modem connection. Put modem-lights on your panel and
you should be all set.
