FC3 Sound stops working after Kernel upgrade

I may be mistaken, but I think others with the same sound card have 
reported the problem previously.  Check the list archives and try 
googling on the kernel and soundcard driver combo.  I seem to remember 
workarounds consisting of muting some items in Alsamixer, but that might 
be a different setup.
