ok, im here: http://fcp.homelinux.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=1

i did this:

    up2date --get-source kernel

i wasnt sure about 2. Install kernel-<version>.src.rpm (given the default RPM configuration, the files this package contains will be written to /usr/src/redhat/)
and it was suggested i do this:

     yum install kernel-source

which i did. now im supposed to:
    cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/
    rpmbuild -bp --target=i686 kernel.spec

SPECS is there, but its empty, and all the dirs under
/usr/src are empty

what did i miss?
