Why do people think like this?  Because society has given them that
example over and over again.  Talent and cash are important than being
civil didn't you get the memo?

Oh yeah, people say that education is to be valued and then give
example after example where teachers are protrayed as evil and
vindictive in pop culture and my wife wonders as a teacher why parents
treat teachers so badly.  Look at the Time magazine cover this month. 
Anyway .....

This is the kind of juvenile behavior that gives linux the RTFM
reputation it has despite too much time so many of us have spent
googling and screwing around with our computers trying to answer other
folks questions in mailing lists like this.

Ugh.   Of course, I have had moments I remember this thread I started
on a mailing list.  The title was supposed to catch people's attention
but all it did was tick people off even though the content was just a
re-hashing or laundry list of things that get covered on the lists all
the time but never got into a FAQ.

Then again I don't think I used that kind of language.
