cannot boot fedora FC3 after succesful installation on an quad Opteron

Dear List,
I have a quad Opteron (4x846 CPU) with a TYAN S4882
motherboard! I succesfully installed fedora Core 3
on the first of the 2 SATA hard disks! Unfortunately 
it gives the following error message during boot:

Booting the kenrel

powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB
Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
Setting default font(latercyrheb-sun16):

Initializing hardware ... storage network audio done
Configuring Kernel parameters //here it hangs
...................................................

What can I do? Is this a bug or a hardware problem?\
SuSE 9.1 AMD_64 and Windows 2003 (32 bit) had no
problem at all!

Any suggestions?
